Well, he tried. I knew Steve. He read a book on the right TV in 1991 that I wrote “The Television Computer” which you can get off Amazon (I put it up there). You can read about the app revolution to come and I also had the patents on using GPS location to tailor content (expired now — but sued Garmin in East Texas Full Up Jury Trial for Infringement and WON).
The problem was the TV ecosystem which was, and is, crazy. That ecosystem never really gave a good way to generate profits if you went off and tried to make your own TV. I think we are now all doomed with the end of 3D and the decent polarized solution (e.g., LG, as opposed to the medically unsafe frame swapping solution of Panasonic and others).
