This article has numbers of factual erros. 3M is a US treasure, period. The fault lies with leadership of the country, not 3M.

That said, most of you don't know it, but reuseable paper for laser printers was invented by 3M, but 3M made regular paper for copiers and that caused 3M to buy all the patents on reuseable "paper" for laser copies. They blocked the introduction of what would have been a revolution in never having to buy copier paper. Again, a serious leadership problem, not 3M. This was Reagan... (sound familiar?). (P.S. for proof read the patent literature).
