Sadly, most of the time, these people have no idea about how human communication works computationally. Once you understand the right literature there is a way. For example, look at John R. Anderson's ACTR work on using human communication to get the right internal model established. Otherwise these scientists, mathematicians, and philosophers will just continue to lie because they do not hold computation as a means of explanation through natural language.
