On writing systems, Chinese gets it power through symbols that can be read in many languages while Korean, perhaps the newest written language, is purely syllabic and restricted to Korean. (Korea can mix Chinese Hana of course). The guess is that skilled readers would show no fMRI difference since every typography is tied to pronouncing words. Relatively unskilled readers should show differences. That would be the prediction.
