Note Descartes was making a statement about human brain computation and specifically renounced the morals. His concept of computation has proven right. That does not mean one man's design for a society is right. Autocracies, no matter how they are formed, can be excessively immoral, unethical, and ultimately illogical. As Plato pointed out, all Democracies fail into Autocracies. From 1940 on democracy, the autocrats are always 'more efficient toward their goals' which is what Descartes noted:

The human brain with human natural language can out-compute constraints like nothing else humans have by either nature or artifice (i.e., our computers).
