In their book "The Dawn of Everything: A New History of Humanity" David Graeber and David Wengrow argue the progression of society is not the simple to the complex, but was richer in variety in the past. But was it ever different at all?
Their argument with far fewer people of more social diversity than today, is not credible.
Perhaps better is a fractal reality where the complexity is constant but distributed at all scales. Limited only by the number of souls participating.
The slaves became the kings. And lies always work their magic of mixing it all up. If only for sheer sense of personal survival.
Nice reminder.
